Serving cheese
When creating a cheese board, bring cheeses to room temperature before serving (about 30 minutes). Soft and fresh cheeses, such as Ricotta should be served chilled.
Select cheeses with a variety of textures, appearances and flavours.
Offer a range of cheeses from soft to hard. Allow enough space on your cheese board for access to cut the cheeses. Use different knives for each cheese so as not to contaminate the flavours. A variety of specialty knifes is available for cutting and spreading specific types of cheeses.
Do not pre-cut cheeses before serving to prevent drying, serve large size pieces of each cheese.
To make identification of cheeses on your board easier, place a cheese marker with appropriate name in each piece of cheese.
Pair cheese with more than one wine as different wine will compliment a different cheese.
To enhance the flavour of cheeses, serve it with neutral bread, such as fresh crusty baguette, instead of crackers.
Accompany your cheese selection with sliced apples or pears, figs, or nuts. |

Wire cheese slicer is a must have tool in every kitchen. Use to slice semi-hard cheeses. |
 |
Hand held slicer should accompany semi-hard cheeses on your cheese platter for easy slicing. Use a hand held grater when serving cheese at a table. |

To complete your wine and cheese party, place name markers to identify cheeses on your platter. |
 |
Use the right knife and utensil for cutting and spreading cheeses. |
